Pace e Bene Nonviolence Service was established in 1989 as an agency of the non-profit St. Barbara Province of the Franciscan Friars of California. Pace e Bene (pronounced pah-chay-bay-nay) means peace and all good in Italian and was an expression used by St. Francis of Assisi as a greeting.
